We believe that our products are the wave of the future, because they
are inherently reusable and recyclable. Our modern world cannot do
without government and military base camp facilities.
Mahaffey's structures offer an alternative to brick and mortar
buildings and serve as "temporary" barracks, DFAC buildings, and more
for many years. They generally use light colored roofs that reduce
urban heat islands, and provide translucency for natural day lighting
that conserves electricity.
As needs change in the future, these temporary camps can be
dismantled in just a few days time. The fabric membrane is washed
and cleaned (using our
water-conserving washing machine) and is ready for another customer.
The entire structure is easily relocated and 100% recycled -- the most
environmentally friendly solution to our modern world.
We've considered the end-of-life issues for our products too.
After several decades, when the structure has reached the end of its
working life, it is recycled using existing infrastructure. The
aluminum framework is easily melted down and re-used, just as aluminum
beverage cans are recycled. The Ferrari composite fabric membrane
can be recycled using their Texyloop process that generates ready-to-use
flexible PVC and polyester fiber.
Whether a Mahaffey structure is used as a temporary barrack, security
checkpoint, Command & Control Station, or for another type of military
application, it is a wise use of our finite natural resources.
