Portable Man-Camp Helipad:
Mahaffey has experience selecting a suitable site location
and constructing a portable helipad with an approved landing
pad at a minimum size of 2,500 square feet ready for use
within 72 hours of initial mobilization. Helipad
markings, lighting, and wind directional devices are
included.
Communications for Turnkey Base Camps:
In emergency situations or desolate locations, lack of or
ineffective communications can cripple a base camp's
solution efforts. Mahaffey understands the importance
of effective communication. We utilize satellite
phones, guaranteeing constant communication between
employees and our customer.
Mahaffey turnkey base camps can provide Internet access for up to 100
personnel simultaneously. Customers generally request that we set
up a dedicated internet café and/or administration space with
Mahaffey-provided computer workstations to allow internet and computer
access; although wireless communication is always available throughout
the camp site.
Mahaffey utilizes a custom designed communications trailer housing a
satellite dish and additional communications equipment. We provide
each customer with a dedicated static IP address and guaranteed
bandwidth. This level of provided technology exceeds most
corporate and government standards. Once on site, communications
can be effected in less than one hour. Backup generators ensure
uninterrupted use of this technology.
*Beware any provider offering satellite communications without
guaranteed bandwidth... In times of an emergency, Internet speed can be
slower than dial-up!
Power Distribution:
Mahaffey has experience providing all the power needs of a
base camp. Most power needs for these camps will be accomplished
with diesel generators. Power is provided to all structures within
the camp. Power provides all interior and exterior lighting and
climate control, as well as personal needs.
Generators are strategically placed away from sleeping quarters,
down-wind, and properly grounded. Extension cords are buried
underground at specific depths for safety.
